6 Worst Social Media Ideas!

Worst social media ideas! For the few social media websites that prosper, there are dozens more that either never got popular, or had a good thing going and ruined it.

From why Myspace failed to Walmart marketing their own social site to teens, we take a look at 6 of the worst social media websites that failed miserably.

6. ConnectU, the pre-Facebook site developed by the Winklevoss twins
5. Myspace
4. Ping (AKA Apple Ping)
3. Friendster
2. Eons.com
1. Walmart’s The Hub / TheHub

I created the blue transition cards and number logos in the corner of each fact. “M” logo and “misfits” intro were both commissioned as gigs from Fiverr.com.
All edits and obviously user generated Photoshopped pictures were done by myself, and the video’s script was my original work. I did not plagiarize any written material. (I shouldn’t even have to say those last two sentences, but might as well give full disclosure!)

  1. Before Facebook, I was big on Myspace, but then Myspace changed so drastically, that I couldn't even figure out how to naviagate around it anymore. The loud music popping up when visit people's profiles was very annoying. I'm going to try and create my own social site in the coming months so stay tuned.

  2. What was the biggest failure on the list? Also, if anyone wants to fight me on Ping not being a literal website, I know it's not, but it's still a social media service. Changing the video title and everything over that is kind of a waste.
