On January 6, news appeared on the official Telegram channel of the Moscow Department of Transport that the Russian company NPP ITELMA had developed a new platform for servicing and manufacturing electric buses. The results were shown to the Deputy Mayor of the capital.
During a meeting with the Deputy Mayor of Moscow Maxim Listov, an experimental prototype of a new generation of electric buses was demonstrated. Its peculiarity is energy consumption reduced by 25% and power reserve increased up to 150 km. When these electric buses are put into operation, with the help of new equipment they will be able to replace the battery in just five minutes at the terminal stations. For this, special pit-stop mobiles will be used. Remarkably, electric buses will be able to monitor the battery charge online.
Concerning the prototype shown by NPP ITELMA, Maxim Liksutov said: “We welcome innovative developments and are always looking for new solutions for metropolitan transport. This is why our startup fund was created. It is important for the city to support domestic companies with production in Moscow. “
Earlier it was reported that the jubilee six hundredth electric bus arrived at the Moscow public transport park (Mosgortrans). The third generation of electrically powered buses is also starting to operate in the fleet. These electric buses are equipped with modernized climate control, special thermal curtains of glass and doors, reinforced flooring and all-round cameras for drivers. What’s also interesting is the passenger counting function.
Yesterday, Interfax shared a message from Maxim Liksutov, which states that in 2021 another 400 electric buses will enter Moscow’s roads.
