a private company from Russia has created an ultra-light rocket project

CosmoCurs, a Russian private company, has introduced a project of an ultra-light launch vehicle with which it plans to participate in the Aeronet National Technological Initiative (STI) contest. This was reported by RIA Novosti with reference to information received from the Director General of CosmoCurs Pavel Pushkin.

Recall, it was previously announced that NTI intends to order and finance the development of several projects to create ultra-light launch vehicles, the most successful of which will be developed in the future. According to reports, during 2020 it is planned to spend about $ 150 thousand to develop at least three projects aimed at creating ultra-lightweight launch vehicles.

The head of CosmoCourse Pavel Pushkin confirmed that the rocket project created in his company in the form of presentation materials was sent to the NTI. He also noted that there is no specific technical specification for the rocket yet, so the company has developed a preliminary project that can be reworked in the future.

From the approximate requirements of NTI, we ourselves formulated the requirements and based on them prepared a draft“, – said Mr. Pushkin, adding that CosmoCurs is able to independently manufacture the media on its own project, without resorting to the help of enterprises in the rocket and space industry. The company’s project involves the construction of a two-stage 19-meter rocket, which is equipped with nine engines. Such a carrier is capable of putting about 265 kg of cargo into a sun-synchronous orbit with an altitude of about 500 km.

Recall, the CosmoCurs company is developing rocket and space technology and intends to provide tourist suborbital flight services in the future. For flights to an altitude of about 200 km, the company’s specialists are developing a single-stage returnable missile and a seven-seater ship. The first flight lasting 15 minutes, 5 minutes of which tourists will spend in zero gravity, is scheduled for 2025. A ticket for such a trip will cost $ 200-250 thousand.
