Advantech has announced the AIMB-233 compact board designed for various embedded systems. This can be medical equipment, industrial devices, robotic systems, etc.
The solution has a Thin Mini-ITX format: the board received a low-profile version with dimensions of 170 × 170 mm. Power can be supplied from an external power supply unit. This allows the product to be used in small enclosures.
It is based on the Intel Whiskey Lake hardware platform. At the same time, four modifications are available: with a Core i7-8665UE, Core i5-8365UE, Core i3-8145UE and Celeron 4305UE processor. In all cases, passive cooling is used, so that no noise is produced during operation.
It is possible to install up to 32 GB of DDR4-2400 RAM in the form of two SO-DIMM modules with a capacity of 16 GB each. Two SATA 3.0 ports are available for connecting drives. In addition, there are two M.2 connectors and a PCIe x1 slot.
The network connectivity is based on Intel I219LM and Intel I211 Gigabit Ethernet controllers. The audio subsystem is based on the Realtek ALC892 codec.
The interface panel displays an HDMI connector for connecting a display, three USB 3.0 ports, a USB Type-C port, two RJ45 jacks for network cables and an audio jack.
