Huami, known to many as a manufacturer of wearable electronics for Xiaomi, is preparing to release a new fitness tracker under the Amazfit brand. Information about him previously flashed on the web. Then it was said that the gadget is hiding under model number A1931. Recently, the resource Gadgets & Wearables found it in the base of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC).
Usually, the database of this regulator does not contain much information about products that should soon be officially presented on the market, but in this case it was lucky. It turned out that Amazfit Band 5 fitness bracelet is hidden under the number A1931. In addition, the accompanying documents contained an image of the future retail packaging of the device.
Thanks to its presence, it became known that the Amazfit Band 5 will receive an AMOLED display, the size of which, unfortunately, is not reported. The information also indicates that the new product meets the 5 ATM water resistance standard (depth up to 50 meters), has a heart rate sensor and can offer many different sports modes.
In addition to this, the device will support the Connected GPS function. Its presence does not mean the presence of a GPS module. Just when synchronizing, the fitness tracker will be able to connect to the GPS module of the smartphone. Among other features, Amazfit Band 5 claims a battery with a capacity of 125 mAh, as well as support for Bluetooth 5.0 BLE. Fitness tracker will be able to work with smartphones based on Android operating systems version 5.0 and higher, as well as iOS version 10.0 and later.
Next to the “AMOLED display” inscription on the image is an icon that is schematically similar to the Xiaomi Mi Band 5 fitness tracker recently introduced by Xiaomi. According to Gadgets & Wearables, Amazfit Band 5 will get similar features and functions that the global version of Mi Smart will have Band 5 from Xiaomi. They are also going to present it very soon.
