Amazon will shutdown shooter Crucible in November 2020

Studio Relentless announced the imminent closure of the free shooter Crucible. Support for the game will end in November. This was reported on the project website. The team decided to stop working a few months after the release. The reason was the feedback from the fans.

“The evaluations led us to a difficult decision – to stop developing the Crucible. We loved seeing fan reactions to the changes we’ve made in the past few months, but we didn’t see a sustainable and healthy future for the game. We will transfer our team to New World and other Amazon Games projects “, – said in a statement.

Ranked Games will close within the next few weeks, and the Custom Mode will be available until November 9th. The company will also refund all funds spent on in-game purchases to players.

Crucible was released on PC (Steam) on May 21 and received mixed reviews. The project scored only 56 points on Metacritic. After a month and a half, the developers returned the game to the beta testing stage due to a bad start. According to SteamCharts, the online shooter peaked at 66 people in October.
