French publisher Ubisoft in a new video on its YouTube channel presented an unusual character from its upcoming Scandinavian action movie Assassin’s Creed Valhalla.
We are talking about a hero named Otta Sluggasson, who was reincarnated as the American baseball player and outfielder of the Los Angeles Dodgers club Cody Bellinger.
The athlete gave his alter ego not only looks, but also voice and animations. The video attached below demonstrates fragments of the motion capture process for Sluggasson.
According to Bellinger, his character’s name translates to “Powerful server”: Sluggasson can really send the ball flying. Players will even be allowed to challenge an athlete to a sports match.
“It was cool to feel like a Viking. I acted like a Viking and added baseball kicks to that. You won’t be able to fight me, but if it had come to a scuffle, Ott Sluggasson would have won. “Bellinger told ESPN.
Celebrity appearances in games are nothing new to the industry. Cyberpunk 2077 alone is expected to feature Keanu Reeves, the Grimes singer and several bloggers including Alanah Pearce.
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will be released on November 10 on PC (Uplay, Epic Games Store), PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and S, and on November 12 on PS5. In mid-October, Ubisoft released the system requirements for the game.
