The largest Chinese smartphone developers are at risk of losing their share in the Russian market. This was reported by the Kommersant newspaper, referring to the results of the GS Group research.
We are talking about the supply of devices from Huawei, Xiaomi, OPPO, Vivo and Realme. Devices of all these brands are very popular among consumers in the Russian Federation.
The named companies last year occupied almost half of the Russian market for smart cellular devices – they accounted for 47% of the total supply.
It is said that leading Chinese smartphone developers may lose their share in the Russian market due to pressure on them from the United States, as well as due to a shortage of components in the global market.
“Experts associate the problems with a shortage of components and difficulties in logistics. If the situation does not change, the share of Chinese companies in imports, which is still close to half, could be halved in 2021.“, The publication says.
In this situation, the South Korean giant Samsung and the American corporation Apple will win. However, in the long term, Chinese brands are likely to recover their positions.
