Some time ago, reputable analyst Ming-Chi Kuo (Ming-Chi Kuo) predicted that the redesigned MacBook Pro with a diagonal of 13.3 inches will be the first Apple device, the basis for which will be the company’s ARM-processor. It is expected that it will appear on the market in the fourth quarter of this year. Now, the analyst said that in the same period of time, Apple may also introduce a new MacBook Air with an ARM processor, however, it will be released a little later.
According to Kuo, the production of new MacBook Air may be launched this year, but they are likely to go on sale in late winter or early spring of 2021. Kuo believes that cost savings resulting from the abandonment of Intel chips could help lower the market value of the MacBook Air. In addition, in 2021, the 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pro should appear on the market, which will receive an updated design and will work on Apple ARM-processors.
Many expected that this year Apple will redesign the compact MacBook Pro, making the screen frames smaller, due to which the diagonal of the display could increase to about 14 inches. However, this did not happen. The analyst believes that Apple is working on a new design for this device, but it will not be presented to the public until the middle of next year.
The current forecast of the analyst concerns Apple portable devices and it did not mention the possible launch time of 24-inch iMac all-in-ones on ARM processors. Rumors indicate that the design of iMac will be substantially changed. It is also assumed that first updated monoblocks on Intel chips will appear on the market, and later Apple will release a version based on its own processor.
