Strategy Analytics estimates that revenue for tablet processor application vendors in the first quarter of this year increased by 2% compared to the same period in 2019.
In particular, producer income amounted to $ 449 million. For comparison: in the first quarter of last year, this figure was approximately $ 440 million.
Apple accounts for almost half – 46% – of the total revenue from the sale of processors for tablets. In second place in the list of leading suppliers is Intel with 17%. Qualcomm closes the top three, the result of which was 16%.
It is noted that the five largest suppliers also include MediaTek and Samsung. Moreover, only these companies were able to increase shipments of chips on an annualized basis.
Strategy Analytics experts believe that in the foreseeable future, consumer interest in tablets will increase. This is due to the spread of a new coronavirus infection: a pandemic has led schoolchildren and students to switch to distance learning, and employees of many companies to switch to remote work. This has created additional demand for computer devices.
