Asobo Studio showed snow in real time in Microsoft Flight Simulator

Last month, Asobo Studio released an update that made Microsoft Flight Simulator compatible with most VR headsets. Along with this, snow and ice have been added to the Live Weather Flight Simulator. Now the developers have shown these innovations as part of the New Year’s trailer.

The video was shot in 4K and shows various locations in a snowy environment. You can see snow-capped mountains, trees clothed in white fluff and rivers chained in ice. The snow cover and ice in the game change taking into account the real weather conditions in each specific point of the planet.

In addition to VR support and improved weather, the update also includes new tutorial missions, challenges, and more. It is worth noting that while many people complain about a considerable number of errors when launching Microsoft Flight Simulator in VR – this is a distortion of in-game windows, and a complete failure of the program to start, and other difficulties. We’ll have to be patient before the developer fixes all major bugs in future updates.

Microsoft Flight Simulator is available only on PC so far, but promises to reach Xbox Series X and S in the summer of 2021.
