Resource VideoCardz shared images of the upcoming ASRock Radeon RX 6800 XT Taichi graphics card. The novelty has received an updated design of the cooling system and new fans. The video card will occupy 2.5 expansion slots in the PC case.
Among the features of the non-reference version of the Radeon RX 6800 XT graphics accelerator made by ASRock, we can single out the presence of a dual BIOS system. On the back of the video card’s printed circuit board there is a switch marked “P” and “Q”, which is responsible for changing the performance (Performance) and quiet (Quiet) modes of operation. There is also a second DIP-switch that allows you to physically turn off the RGB-backlighting of the video card cooling system.
A unique feature of the ASRock Radeon RX 6800 XT Taichi model is its power subsystem configuration. At the moment, this video card is the only one of the shown non-reference versions of the Radeon RX 6000 series graphics accelerators from AMD partners, which is equipped with three 8-pin additional power connectors at once. This hints at a lot of headroom for overclocking.
An additional distinctive feature is the presence of a UBS Type-C connector, which is present only in the reference samples of the Radeon RX 6800 XT and Radeon RX 6800. Among the non-reference variants, this connector was announced only in the Sapphire Radeon RX 6800 XT NITRO + SE model.
The official announcement of the ASRock Radeon RX 6800 XT Taichi model will take place this month. The source does not provide an exact date. The cost of the new product, for obvious reasons, will be higher than the cost of the reference sample Radeon RX 6800 XT, which AMD estimates at $ 649. Apparently, the ASRock variant will be able to offer significant factory overclocking.
