ASUS opened pre-order for the first in Russia gaming laptops with AMD Ryzen 4000 processors

ASUS has announced the opening of a pre-order for gaming laptops TUF Gaming A15 and TUF Gaming A17. They will be the first truly powerful models in Russia with the new AMD Ryzen 4000 processors – earlier their release was delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic. With a compact form of the case, they provide long-term operation from a single charge, security according to the military standard and frame updates on the screen with a frequency of up to 144 Hz.

The main feature of the new ASUS TUF Gaming notebooks is the presence of AMD Ryzen 4000 processors. Russia already has devices built on this platform, but all of them are ultrabooks with U-series processors. Now, high-performance models provided by H-series processors are now available.

The AMD Ryzen 4000 processors with Zen 2 architecture offer up to 8 cores and 16 executable threads. They are made using the 7-nanometer process technology, therefore they use much less energy during operation than the processors of the previous generation. DDR4-3200 RAM modules up to 32 GB also increase productivity.

The graphics processors are responsible for the GeForce GTX 1660 Ti and RTX 2060 accelerators with up to 6 GB of GDDR6 video memory. They are based on the NVIDIA Turing architecture with a multi-threaded encoder that allows you to play and stream live without sagging frame rates or other problems.

The diagonals of the new displays are 15.6 and 17.3 inches. The frame refresh rate of the 15-inch model reaches 144 Hz, and the screen of the 17-inch model updates frames with a frequency of up to 120 Hz. NanoEdge displays have thin bezels and are built on IPS-matrices with wide viewing angles. On the top of the displays there is a webcam with a protrusion that prevents the lid from completely shutting down and simplifies its opening. For all its compactness, the new items are equipped with batteries with a capacity of 90 Wh; that is, a higher capacity than previous models. According to the manufacturer, one battery charge is enough for 12.3 hours of video viewing.

Laptops are available in two versions: Fortress Gray and Bonfire Black. The first option is made in a more standard and strict form. The second option is designed for gamers who love attention and is decorated with a red line running along the perimeter of the case and “aggressive” protrusions on the lid. Both models comply with the military standard MIL-STD-810H, that is, they successfully passed the tests with intense vibration, shock, as well as fluctuations in temperature and humidity.

On the left side of the case are two USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-A ports and one USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-C port, and on the right there is an additional USB port suitable for connecting a wired mouse. In addition to them on the case there is an HDMI 2.0b port, an Ethernet interface and a combined audio jack with support for surround sound DTS: X Ultra.
