ASUS has released the high-performance router RT-AX89X, designed to be used as part of network infrastructures aimed at processing game traffic.
The new product complies with the Wi-Fi 6 standard, aka 802.11ax. It supports operation in two frequency ranges – 2.4 and 5 GHz. In the first case, the data transfer rate reaches 1300 Mbit / s, in the second – 4804 Mbit / s.
The device is equipped with a quad-core processor with a clock frequency of up to 2.2 GHz, 1 GB of RAM and 256 MB of flash memory. Eight external antennas provide coverage for a large area of housing.
The router has two 10GbE network ports with a bandwidth of up to 10 Gb / s – these are RJ45 and SFP + connectors. In addition, there are eight gigabit RJ45 network ports. Two USB 3.1 Gen 1 connectors are available for connecting peripherals.
Implemented OFDMA (Orthogonal Frequency-Division Multiple Access) technology. MU-MIMO (Multi-user MIMO) system support mentioned. It also talks about compatibility with Apple macOS and Microsoft Windows operating systems.
The dimensions of the router are 343.64 × 343.64 × 80.02 mm, weight – 1280 g. The device is enclosed in a black case.
