Very soon, Huawei, which is experiencing serious difficulties due to sanctions from the United States, is announcing flagship smartphones of the Mate 40 family. Alas, buying these devices in a number of regions is likely to be very problematic.
As previously reported, the Mate 40 devices will be the last high-end smartphones built on Kirin’s proprietary chips. The fact is that American restrictions prevent Huawei from using TSMC’s capacity to release these processors.
This situation will negatively affect the availability of smartphones in the international market. Popular blogger Evan Blass, also known as @Evleaks, claims sales of the standard version of the Mate 40 will be limited.
In other words, devices may not debut in all markets. Perhaps the situation can be corrected by releasing smartphone modifications on an alternative hardware platform, for example, on MediaTek chips with an integrated 5G modem.
We add that the Mate 40 series is expected to announce four models: the basic version of the Mate 40 and its more efficient modification Mate 40 Pro, as well as variants of the Mate 40 Pro Plus and Mate 40 Porsche Special Edition.
