Baldur’s Gate 3 will be able to interrogate corpses and talk to animals

The developers from Larian Studios published a note with information that could have escaped viewers during the recent broadcast of Baldur’s Gate 3. The announcement says that the project will transfer curious spells from the board game Dungeons & Dragons, giving the opportunity to communicate with corpses and animals.

The first spell is called “Speak with Dead”. This skill will allow you to interrogate the dead people and, according to the developers, will be relevant throughout the passage. Apparently, players should always keep scrolls with the mentioned skill with them.

In Dungeons & Dragons, the spell has several features. For example, it cannot be used on corpses without mouths and bodies, which, due to the magic imposed on them, are obliged to report exclusively the truth. It is also worth noting that in D&D “Conversation with the Dead” allows you to ask only five questions and can only be used by characters of the bard and cleric classes. The line limit will also appear in Baldur’s Gate 3.

The “Conversation with Animals” scroll works in a similar way. The spell provides an opportunity to calm and understand the intentions of the beast, and subsequently help him. In some cases, the use of a spell will allow you to acquire a unique companion.

Baldur’s Gate 3 will be released in Early Access on PC (Steam) and Google Stadia on September 30, 2020. The developers do not intend to open pre-orders, so it will be possible to purchase the game only on the day of release.
