Capcom has released a trailer for the recently announced action RPG Monster Hunter Rise as part of the Tokyo Game Show 2020 Online, as well as demonstrated the gameplay at the presentation.
As a reminder, Monster Hunter Rise is a Nintendo Switch-exclusive title that fans of the series have long been waiting for. It takes place in a completely new mountainous area and the village of Kamura. Hunters will fight monsters and get useful materials in various locations, including the ancient ruins of the sanctuary.
After defeating an enemy in Monster Hunter Rise, players can unlock unique ingredients to craft weapons and armor that will increase their chances of success and future survival. The project will support collaborative online mode (up to 4 users).
In Monster Hunter Rise, the Capcom team will provide a new set of tools for tracking and catching monsters (from 28:13 to 29:29 in the video above) on the ground and in the air, which will add many options for hunting strategy. New hunting partners (palamutes) and riding companions (canins) will also appear in the game – you can see the first in the video above (from 30:41 to 31:30). Palikos will return as support characters for actions such as healing.
Monster Hunter Rise will go on sale on March 26, 2021.
