The IGN portal, as part of its regular heading IGN First, has presented a gameplay video for the upcoming horror film Resident Evil Village, first recorded on a past generation console.
Recall that Resident Evil Village was announced as an exclusive console of the new cycle (and PC). In September 2020, the developers promised to try to transfer the game to PS4 and Xbox – the official announcement followed in January 2021.
In the case of the IGN video, the PlayStation 4 Pro version of Resident Evil Village came into view. This video does not demonstrate how the upcoming horror will look and work on the base model of the console.
During a 5-minute cut of the gameplay, Ethan Winters, the protagonist of Resident Evil Village, explores the partially flooded basement of Dimitrescu Castle, where he manages to deal with several ordinary enemies.
Towards the end of the video, Ethan witnesses a familiar (but longer) scene from the third trailer, in which Lady Dimitrescu talks on the phone with her apparently direct boss.
The video description states that today’s demo was the first in a series of IGN premieres at Resident Evil Village – reporters promise a full month of exclusive content.
Resident Evil Village is slated for release on May 7 this year on PC (Steam), PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and S, as well as Google Stadia. Capcom has high hopes for the game.
