Yesterday studio CD Projekt RED hosted the Night City Wire broadcast, dedicated to the role-playing shooter Cyberpunk 2077. At the same time, the developer published the video “Weapons of Destruction”, in which he talked about the game’s weapons. And where there are weapons, there is destruction. Cyberpunk 2077 Senior Gameplay Designer Pawel Kapala in an interview with VG247 talked about the destructible environment of the game.
Kapala noted that CD Projekt RED places a lot of emphasis on destructible environments in RPG so that when players finish a firefight they can look around and see how much the room has changed as a result of the battle.
But it also has a practical side. CD Projekt RED wants players to use a wide variety of weapons to destroy enemy hideouts, which would put them at a disadvantage. “You will see different reactions to being hit. For example, if you shoot at a pipe filled with water, you will see how the water flows out of the place you hit. And this applies to almost all objects that are in the game “– added Kapala.
In addition to this, CD Projekt RED revealed that gamers will be able to play as Johnny Silverhand (the hero of Keanu Reeves). In the meantime, the developers are still improving the melee system, as they are still unhappy with it, and also promise the absence of “sponge enemies” typical of action games with role-playing elements.
Cyberpunk 2077 will go on sale November 19 on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
