2020 is clearly not conducive to big events. This year’s New York Comic-Con will not be held in the traditional format due to quarantine measures against COVID-19, but the organizer, in the person of ReedPop, promises to hold a virtual analogue via YouTube between October 8-11.
With most of the world’s conferences closing due to the coronavirus in 2020, it should come as no surprise that NYCC is joining them. The digital counterpart should give fans the opportunity not to miss out on the big news from the world of comics and entertainment.
New York Comic-Con this year will offer broadcasts related to popular universes like American Gods and Star Trek. The DreamWorks Animation and Hulu teams will also host their own broadcasts. And, obviously, this is just the tip of the iceberg. More details will follow in the coming weeks.

It will be interesting to see how some of the features that Comic-Con is famous for carry over to digital. For example, cosplay is an incredibly popular part of this show. Of course, it will be difficult to organize, but still some kind of platform for showing the creations of loyal fans can be realized.
The ReedPop team will have to solve a lot of organizational issues so that the virtual Comic-Con does not go unnoticed. The task of bringing the show online will not be an easy one.
