Curved gaming QLED monitors Samsung Odyssey G9 and G7 are priced at $ 700-1700

Samsung has announced the launch of pre-sales of its Odyssey Series gaming monitors, which it introduced at CES 2020 earlier this year. New items – Odyssey G9 with a diagonal of 49 inches and Odyssey G7 with a diagonal of 32 and 27 inches – can be ordered through the official website of the company. They will also be available at individual retailers.

All three monitors are built on panels of type VA with QLED (quantum dot) technology. Each of the new products is characterized by a radius of curvature of 1000 mm (1000R), and according to the manufacturer, these are the world’s first gaming monitors with such a bend.

Each of the monitors has a high refresh rate of 240 Hz and a minimum response time of only 1 ms. Support for FreeSync Premium Pro technology through DisplayPort 1.4, as well as the declared G-SYNC compatibility, are ready to offer additional smoothness of the picture.

The flagship Odyssey G9 monitor offers a 49-inch curved VA panel with a 32: 9 aspect ratio. The manufacturer claims that this is the first monitor in the world with an unusual resolution Dual Quad High Definition, which is 5120 × 1440 pixels. The monitor has a brightness of 1000 cd / m2 and complies with the HDR1000 standard.

Not only the curvature of the panel, but also the overall design of the monitor is also eye-catching: the white finish here is combined with a large area of customizable multi-colored backlighting, offering 52 different color options and five different lighting effects.

Odyssey G7 models are built on the more familiar 27- and 32-inch curved VA-panels with an aspect ratio of 16: 9 and a resolution of Quad HD (2560 × 1440 pixels). Supports HDR600, characterized by a peak brightness of 600 cd / m2. These monitors are made in black and also feature customizable color illumination.

All three new items are equipped with connectors Display Port 1.4, HDMI 2.0, USB 3.0, as well as an audio jack for headphones.

For the Western market, the 49-inch model of the Odyssey G9 monitor is estimated by the manufacturer at $ 1,700. Models Odyssey G7 measuring 27 and 32 inches, the manufacturer estimated at 700 and 800 US dollars. On sale new items will appear on July 13. Entering the Russian market is expected closer to the end of July.
