Cyberpunk 2077 analysts predicted almost 30 million copies sold in the first year after release

In anticipation of the very imminent release of Cyberpunk 2077, the Bloomberg editors decided to ask experts about the prospects for the hotly anticipated role-playing blockbuster CD Projekt RED.

Recall that in October 2019, analyst Matthew Kanterman from Bloomberg predicted Cyberpunk 2077 over 20 million copies sold in the first 12 months.

Since then, the forecast has only become more optimistic: according to a dozen experts interviewed by Bloomberg, 29.7 million copies are expected from Cyberpunk 2077 during the mentioned period.

For comparison: the previous major release of CD Projekt RED – the fantasy action game The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – reached similar levels only by the end of its fifth year on the market.

According to analysts, the assessments of the specialized press play an important role in the success of a project. The first reviews of Cyberpunk 2077 are expected today, December 7th.

“Reviews for different platforms may vary, but ratings below 90% can provoke negative reactions, 95% slightly more positive, and 98% and above extremely positive.”– says Michal Wojciechowski from Ipopema Securities.

More than eight years have passed since the announcement of Cyberpunk 2077 – the announcement was made in October 2012. Since then, the project has been postponed more than once, but the last announced date should be final: the game is preparing for release on December 10.
