The State Corporation Roscosmos reports that today, July 10, 2020, a railway platform with components of the launch pad of the Angara space rocket complex arrived at Vostochny Cosmodrome in the Amur Region.
Recall that on Vostochny, a launch pad for carriers of the Angara-A5 is being created. The completion of these works is planned in 2022, and the first launch of the named rocket should be carried out in 2023.
It is reported that sections of the new launch pad have been delivered to the site for storing technological equipment: each of them weighs more than 50 tons.
Tomorrow, July 11, 2020, in Severodvinsk, the loading of the huge launch pad of the Angara missile system onto the Barents universal cargo ship, which will follow the Northern Sea Route, will begin. Large-sized constructions weighing more than 2000 tons will arrive at the Sovetskaya Gavan port: there they will be loaded onto a barge and delivered to the Vostochny River along the Amur and Zeya rivers.
The dispatch of the Barents vessel from Severodvinsk is tentatively scheduled for July 17. It is planned that the launch complex will reach the cosmodrome in mid-September of this year. After that, the key phase of the construction of the Angara-A5 carrier site will begin.
