digitization by touch

Nikolay Koldirkaev

How is the country looking for a way into the digital economy? Why are digital technologies slower than they would like? We are holding the pulse of digitization 2020.

Digital transformation of the economy in the world has been talked about for 19 years. Initially, within the framework of the Industry 4.0 concept developed in Germany, the digitization of the manufacturing sector with
using sensors built into virtually all equipment components, the widespread implementation of cyber-physical systems and the analysis of all available data. Then the term was delayed so that its vision
Digitization today has the owner of every coffee shop. There’s both factoring and blockchain loyalty … digital business connects even with bots in chat rooms and SMM, but the main
the smell of ground coffee is still a sales tool.

Banks spend insane amounts on cloud technology, artificial intelligence, big data processing and large-scale implementation of biometric identification protocols, but still send
where the map was made.

No, I do not want to say that digitization in the sense of “add to the mind of business processes” is not good – it changes our lives and changes for the better, but I am constantly worried about the question: is there
Are there any results from the implementation of technologies that have only been talked about in our country for at least a decade? What is the point of transition to the digital economy?

In our country, the task of digitalization was given the status of state on December 24, 2018, when the decision of the Presidium of the Council under the President of the Russian Federation for strategic development and
national projects approved the passport of the program “Digital Economy of the Russian Federation”. The passport describes the tasks of digitizing the economy, as seen by the government and the president.

“The key goals of the national project are to increase internal costs for the development of the digital economy, to create a high-speed and secure information and telecommunications infrastructure.
transfer, processing and storage of large amounts of data, accessible to all organizations and households, using predominantly domestic software by government
bodies, local governments and organizations. ”

A year has passed, and it is quite appropriate to ask the question: how is digitalization in practice? And the main conclusion is slowly. Digitalization. It’s coming. Very. Slow. And there is still a lot to do

Big business is interested in empowerment and productivity growth. He is ready to deploy digital solutions using cloud services, artificial intelligence,
big data, blockchain, etc. But are developers ready to offer the right product?

Yes and no. Bring CRM or accounting to the cloud – many integrators can, love and practice. Several major players are successfully implementing their ERM systems. And here is the real application
solutions using cryptography and blockchain – you won’t find a day with fire. The vast majority of Fintech products are at best in the MVP stage, which for real application requires
saw and saw. Plus the price for such fun spoiled by easy venture money developers will not make. Personally, the developers of one seemingly fast blockchain claimed to have them
the average check is $ 20,000. But the implementations are one, two, and all. And those are not to call great.

So it turns out that the introduction of modern digital technologies in Russia is much slower than in the US, China or Japan. At the same time, returning to coffee shops, domestic small business
is in the forefront of implementing factoring solutions and blockchain loyalty programs. Paradox.

There is a feeling that business and developers do not see or hear each other. Big business is in no hurry to implement untested solutions. And innovative companies are in no hurry to give out good ones
for quick and easy product implementation. At the same time, venture capital investment in technology startups through ICOs ended with innovative companies
R&D, have successfully mastered all the funds and want more, and companies would already like to see what came out of their funding, and instead have on their hands constantly falling in price tokens and not
ready for MVP implementation. Vicious circle.

The concept of “Smart City” has been developing since 2017, when the Ministry of Communications on behalf of the President developed the program “Digital Economy of Russia”. But the problem is that it is even theoretically true
a smart city, without quotes, can only be built from scratch. However, the digitalization of some elements of urban infrastructure is already changing the way we live.

Inhabitants of big cities use public transport or parking every day, which for the last 20 years is digitized significantly. Simple equipping of jigs with mobile
terminals led to the Krasnodar tram and trolleybus closure last year with increasing profits.

At the same time in some other big cities it is not possible to pay for the travel with a bank card, but you can trace in real time in the geoinformation application where you need it
municipal transport unit.

Road cameras now not only record speeding, but also the intersection of a continuous, movement on a dedicated lane of VT and violation of the rules of exit at the intersection with the waffle marking.

High-speed mobile connections have become available. But free municipal Wi-Fi is in decline – as a rule, you can only catch it near the administration of the regional center. And something is not

Digital technologies go to regions with great difficulty. And the problem is not seen even in digital inequality – fiber has now been extended even to islands. The problem is more about total inertia. in order to
to become effective by modern standards, urgent digitization is subject to agriculture and regional transport.

Here is a simple example. The Sochi Investment Forum 2020 will be launched in Sochi for a moment. A status international event. But train tickets Tuapse – Adler online you do not buy. more
in order to find out their cost (415 rubles., No thanks), you will have to call the Railways hotline. Well, where does that go?

That is, the regional carrier failed to even publish the ticket prices. In a society that is broadly so, on the path from information to
digitally, a federal passenger company lets you consider a wagon scheme, select and buy a seat in the train, and a regional one does not even indicate prices.

On the other hand, it cannot be said that the local authorities do not deal with the problems of digitization. But if we talk about the Krasnodar region, then the local authorities understand it somehow one-sided. For them
digitalization is the only window for investors, database, site. That is, in essence, just information technologies that in their view can serve to attract investment and development

At the same time, other agrarian regions are already planning or are in the process of introducing digital agriculture, digital agriculture and even intelligent agricultural production. In December
last year, the governor of the Krasnoyarsk Territory announced that a digital agriculture center would be established in the region on the basis of the agricultural technical school in Uyar.

In the Ulyanovsk region at the local agrarian university in January 2020, gathered the heads of districts to get acquainted with the Internet technologies used in the agroindustrial complex, examined the “Smart Digital Farm”, the laboratory
digital agriculture, training center for digitization and robotization of agricultural machines.

And even the head of the Chelyabinsk region suggested that the Regional Ministry of Agriculture consider additional opportunities of modern digital technologies of precision agriculture. And the Krasnodar region is still creating
window for investors. Super!

According to a study conducted by the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia in 2019 in 85 entities of the Russian Federation, 20% of them show a high level of development of T and
implementation of technological solutions in agroindustrial complex, in 29% of the regions the average is recorded.

Speaking about digital transformation, it is necessary to understand that in our country this process is centralized, digitalization goes from the center to the regions, and goes very slowly, for rare

According to the results of the national rating of the Russian fast-growing technology companies TechUspeh, the most innovative enterprises are in
Moscow, St. Petersburg and Perm.

According to the rating, the best performance among fast-growing companies was demonstrated by Rubetek, a Moscow company that markets smart home technology (small business category, growth)
revenues over the last four years – more than 300%), Digital LLC, a company engaged in the development and implementation of technologies for digitization of industry (medium-sized companies, revenue growth –
90%) and the biopharmaceutical company Nanolek LLC (large companies category, 79%).

Among the most innovative enterprises were TechnoSpark LLC (a category of small companies), the leading Russian manufacturer of telecommunication equipment for spectral sealing of LLC T8.
(Midsize Category), designer and manufacturer of integrated circuits = JSC PKC “Milander” (large companies category).

where we are going

Returning to the beginning of the article, I want to point out that the adoption of digital technologies, the transition to “digital” thinking is slow, but it’s going. There are a huge number of digital technologies on the market, but their implementation
it is hampered by the fact that executives do not always have the understanding that their business processes are subject to immediate digitization. Which will increase efficiency and increase profitability. but
even if there is such an understanding, there are not always resources to implement these plans.

Also relevant is the problem described in the classic dialogue between the characters of the story “Monday begins on Saturday”:

– We need a programmer.

– Everyone needs a programmer.

On this basis, it sometimes seems to me that the widespread statements of CIOs about the importance of soft-slip are pouring water into the wrong mill and cause technicians instead of
to unlock in their technological niche and / or subject area, look for the path to the tops of information technology management, but eventually return to that activity,
which is really good.

Also remember that the word “digitalization” is just a term that is now at the height of popularity. And in fact, we’re watching a long series called this one, which may have already jumped over
the shark and each successive series will be more and more boring from the original idea.

Therefore, I would state the following of my article. Instead of thinking about digitization for a long, long time, you should do it. He got up in the morning – started digitization. Before after
or instead of charging. If you want to be healthy – get hard. Introduce the numbers in business – do not be shy. And we will win.
