On the last day of Tokyo Game Show 2020, Koei Tecmo hosted a special broadcast for the Dynasty Warriors series, with one of the most notable announcements being Omega Force’s Dynasty Warriors 9 Empires.

Producer Akihiro Suzuki explained that Dynasty Warriors 9 Empires is the first game in the series in 6 years to be released as a spin-off of Empires.

It will have updated visuals, improved gameplay and country governance. The player will still be able to customize their avatar using the updated editor. The producer noted that due to COVID-19, the company was somewhat delayed with the announcement and is now pleased to present Dynasty Warriors 9 Empires. The game will not offer an open world, unlike its predecessor, but will concentrate on large-scale battles.
