According to previous leaks, with the release of the Exynos 2100 processor, Samsung will be able to compete with Qualcomm for the first time in a long time in the field of flagship smartphone chipsets. The latest test results of the Korean chip in Geekbench show its superiority over the recently announced Snapdragon 888.
Recall that the Exynos 2100 chip will form the basis of the Galaxy S21 series smartphones designed for most markets, including the Russian one. According to reports, the processor will be unveiled on January 12, two days before the Galaxy S21 announcement. Today, a reputable insider hiding under the nickname Ice Universe reported that in the Geekbench benchmark, Exynos 2100 scores 1,089 points in single-core and 3,963 points in multi-core tests.

This is a significant step up from previous testing results. Then the chipset scored 1006 and 3059 points in single-core and multi-core tests, respectively. This increase can be attributed to Samsung’s hard work in optimizing software for the new chip. As a reminder, the Snapdragon 888 scores 1135 points in the single-core and 3794 points in the multi-core test, according to official figures from Qualcomm. Thus, the Samsung chip outperforms it in multi-core performance, while maintaining a slight lag in single-core performance.
