GIGABYTE has announced the high-performance Aorus Gen4 SSD for high-performance gaming computers and workstations.

The products are made in the M.2 2280 format: the dimensions are 22 × 80 mm. The interface is PCI Express 4.0 x4 (NVMe 1.3 specification) for connection, which provides high bandwidth.

It is based on 3 D TLC NAND Flash microchips (three bits of information in one cell) and a Phison PS5016-E16 controller. Added support for TRIM commands and S.M.A.R.T. monitoring tools.

The Aorus Gen4 SSD family includes three models – with a capacity of 500 GB, as well as 1 and 2 TB. All of them are capable of sequential data reading at speeds up to 5000 MB / s. The sequential write speed reaches 2500 MB / s for the younger version and 4400 MB / s for the other two.

As for the IOPS (input / output operations per second), the 500 GB version has up to 400 thousand for random read and up to 550 thousand for random write. For the other two modifications, these values reach 750 thousand and 700 thousand, respectively.

Unfortunately, there is no information on the approximate price of the drives at the moment.
