The first episode of the Japanese action RPG Final Fantasy VII Remake was released almost a year ago, in April 2020, and fans are waiting for a sequel. According to the game’s producer Yoshinori Kitase, the second episode will exceed players’ expectations. He announced this at the CEDEC + Kyushu Online 2020 conference.
Speaking at CEDEC + Kyushu Online 2020, Final Fantasy VII Remake Producer Yoshinori Kitase commented on the second part of the remake, which is currently in development. He stated that the team wants to create a game that will not only meet the expectations of fans, but also exceed them. Looks like Square Enix plans to introduce even more innovations than in Midgar.
Final Fantasy VII Remake co-director Naoki Hamaguchi also said that after the release of the first episode of the project, the team was joined by employees who really wanted to work on the second part – they really liked the remake. The new arrivals also came up with new ideas for improving the combat system.
The second part of Final Fantasy VII Remake won’t be out anytime soon, but rumors have it that fans will soon be able to return to Midgar. A reliable source revealed this month that an updated version of the PlayStation 5 game is in development. It may be announced on February 13th.
Final Fantasy VII Remake is currently only available on PlayStation 4.
