Thanks to the information posted on the website of the Chinese 3C regulator, it became known that Huawei has applied for certification of a 66-W power supply for mobile devices. According to some reports, it will be bundled with the upcoming flagship smartphone Mate 40, the release of which is expected this fall.
Currently, Huawei does not have a smartphone in its portfolio that can be charged with current of such power, however, the new charger will be able to produce 40-W current, which is needed to replenish the energy reserve of some current models of the manufacturer. The power supplied by the adapter probably hints at the maximum fast charging power that the long-awaited Mate 40 will support. However, some sources claim that the flagship of the Chinese tech giant will receive slightly faster charging, but there is no evidence of this information yet.
Of course, it cannot be stated unequivocally that Huawei will complete the flagship smartphone with such a charge, however, if this information is confirmed, the device will gain an advantage over one of the main competitors in the face of the Apple iPhone, the next generation of which, according to some sources, will not be equipped with an adapter for charging.
