Goodram unveils its first external SSD – HL100 can hold up to 2TB of data


European manufacturer of storage devices Wilk Elektronik SA has introduced the first external solid-state drive under the Goodram brand – the HL100 device.

The novelty is enclosed in a compact body with dimensions of 92 × 46 × 9.2 mm. A USB 3.2 Type-C interface is used to connect to a computer, providing a bandwidth of up to 10 Gb / s.

The solution is based on TLC NAND flash memory microchips (three bits of information in one cell) and the SMI2258XT controller. Four storage capacities are available – 256GB and 512GB, and 1TB and 2TB.

The new disc from the Polish manufacturer is extremely convenient and compact, and its dimensions correspond to the size of a plastic card. Like internal SSDs, the solution is fast, shock-resistant and quiet.“, – the developer notes.

The declared data transfer rate in sequential read mode reaches 450 MB / s, in sequential write mode – 420 MB / s.

The devices come with a three-year warranty. The package includes a USB Type-C to USB Type-A connection cable. Unfortunately, there is no information about the estimated price at the moment.
