Google asked not to include her in legal war between Apple and Epic Games

Google is trying to prevent US District Courts from bringing it into legal battle between Apple and Epic Games. The Internet giant has sent a letter to judges, including Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers, who want to tie the lawsuits to each other.

Google opposed this, saying that there were enough differences between it and Apple and there was “Little risk of conflicting results”: “While Android and iOS compete to attract app developers and end users, Google and Apple use different business models, agreements and policies to support competing ecosystems.”

As a reminder, Epic Games filed lawsuits against Apple and Google after the two companies removed Fortnite from their app stores. The decision was prompted by the introduction of direct payment into the game, which avoids the platform’s 30% commission on all transactions.

Notably, Google claims that no legal entity has yet received a formal complaint in this case. After it is delivered and the court plans a timetable for an initial hearing, Google plans to oppose Epic Games “Based on circumstances unique to Android”

Epic Games has previously filed a petition to restore Fortnite to the iOS app store while litigation continues.
