In addition to the new flagship smartphone Pixel 5, Google today unveiled an improved version of the Pixel 4a launched in August. Despite the similar name, this is a completely different device, albeit reminiscent of its predecessor in the design of a plastic case. In terms of technical specifications, the smartphone is much closer to the Pixel 5.
The Pixel 4a 5G has a 0.4-inch larger display than the Pixel 4a. Now its diagonal is 6.2 inches. The resolution of the AMOLED display remains the same, it is Full HD +. The refresh rate has not changed either. Like the previous model, it is 60 Hz. In the upper left corner of the screen in a round cutout is a front-facing 8-megapixel camera. The main camera has improved significantly compared to the Pixel 4a: the new smartphone uses the same module as the older Pixel. It combines a 12.2-megapixel main sensor and a 16-megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor. In terms of camera software, everything is the same as on the Pixel 5. That is, users can count on stunning photos in the dark and filming cinematic video. A fingerprint sensor is located below the main camera block.
Like the Pixel 5, the Pixel 4a 5G is based on the mid-range Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G processor, which combines eight cores clocked at up to 2.4GHz, an Adreno 620 video accelerator and an X52 modem. However, unlike its older brother, the device received 6 GB of RAM. The built-in storage capacity is 128 GB. As for the software platform, the device runs the latest Android 11 OS.
The Pixel 4a 5G boasts dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, and NFC. The battery capacity is 3800 mAh. Support for 18W fast charging is announced. Music lovers will certainly appreciate the 3.5-mm headphone jack located on the upper edge.
The cost of the smartphone, which will go on sale from October 15, is $ 499.
