Google will not release the Pixel 5 XL, but the Pixel 4a will be released in two versions

There are already a lot of rumors and leaks about Google Pixel 4a and 5 smartphones on the Web. Almost all the smallest details are known about the mid-budget Pixel 4a. Information about the flagship Pixel 5 was discovered in the Android Open Source Project (AOSP) code back in February. However, the Pixel 5 XL is still not heard much. And for good reason.

It has long been known that the Pixel 4a is code-named Sunfish and is built on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 730 processor. Previously, it was believed that other well-known code names for the upcoming Google smartphones, Bramble and Redfin, belong to the Pixel 5 and 5 XL, respectively. However, 9to5Google specialists found lines in the beta code of the Google application for Android, thanks to which it became known that the code names correspond to the final names of smartphones.

It turned out that the name Bramble corresponds to the previously unknown Pixel 4a 5G, which, like the Pixel 5, will be built on the Snapdragon 765G chipset. No more names of unannounced devices were found in the application code, which may indicate that the search giant does not plan to release an increased XL version of Pixel 5.

Given the fact that both the flagship and budget models will be based on the same chipset, it will be interesting to see how Google sells the Pixel 5, which will have to compete with a more affordable device that is not inferior in performance.
