Analyst firm GfK released information on retail sales of games in the UK between January 16-23. Recently released stealth action game Hitman 3 took first place on the charts. At the same time, the initial sales of the game turned out to be 17% higher compared to the second part.

The PlayStation 5 version of Hitman 3 was the most popular among buyers, accounting for 49% of sales. The share of the version for the Xbox consoles was 27%, and for the PlayStation 4 – 25%. As a reminder, this is information for boxed editions only. Taking into account digital versions, the picture may be different.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons dropped to second place. She lacked only 800 copies to the first position. Animal Crossing: New Horizons sales dropped 8% from the previous week.

Notably, a small delivery of the PlayStation 5 arrived in UK stores last week. This has had a positive impact on the performance of some games. Thus, sales of Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales grew by 161% (moved up from twelfth place to fourth), Demon’s Souls – by 291% (returned to the chart at twenty-seventh), Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War – by 56 % (thanks to the PlayStation version) and Assassin’s Creed Valhalla – by 7% (sales of the PS5 version increased by 174%). Overall, sales of PlayStation 5 games were up 279% over the previous week.
The fitness game Ring Fit Adventure for Nintendo Switch also returned to the top ten – it was in seventh place with a 47% increase in sales.
