A page for an as-yet-unannounced racing game Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered has been spotted on the Amazon UK online store. The site only features Xbox One and Nintendo Switch versions, but early rumors pointed to a re-release on PC and PlayStation 4 as well.
Apparently, Electronic Arts is preparing to announce Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered in the near future. According to information provided by Amazon UK, the game will go on sale on November 13, 2020. It is not yet known if it will be released on Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5, but it is very likely.
Recall that Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit was released on PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in 2010, as well as Wii, iOS, Android, webOS and Windows Phone. It was developed by studio Criterion Games (Burnout series). The game is a reboot of Need for Speed III: Hot Pursuit, released in 1998.
The project offers not just competitive races in supercars, but also police chases. In Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit, players can take on the role of a racer or cop and complete both campaigns. The game has received positive reviews from dozens of publications, with an average Metacritic rating of 88 out of 100 based on 73 reviews.
Interestingly, the new Need for Speed is currently being dealt with by Criterion Games, which Electronic Arts handed over the franchise’s fate earlier this year.
