HTC U12+

HTC flagship smartphone will return to market in July

Taiwanese smartphone maker HTC once had a resounding success thanks to its early bet on Android. But in recent years, the company is going through hard times, suffers financial losses and does not produce mobile phones that are of interest to the general public. But according to recent reports, HTC will return to the flagship smartphone market after a long break.

HTC U12 +

Although the company’s main efforts are focused on virtual reality technologies and devices, HTC mobile phones are still slowly developing. Unless, of course, forget about the “cryptographic device” HTC Exodus, which turned out to be a complete failure – in order to recoup the costs, the smartphone would need to work for more than 170 years.

According to media reports, the first mobile phone HTC 5G will appear in July 2020. If this happens, the company will break its two-year silence in the flagship market. It is expected that the smartphone will first appear in the Taiwanese market for the company, and only after that in other countries (in which it will depend on the success of the product).

At the moment, very little is known about this smartphone. It is expected that Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 single-chip system with Snapdragon X55 5G modem will become its heart, and the appearance will continue the style of HTC U12 – the last flagship smartphone HTC. Of course, there will be modern trends in the form of thin screen frames, as well as various cutouts for the front camera.

HTC Desire 20 Pro

In addition, in front of the new 5G flagship, HTC will launch the Desire 20 4G series in June. HTC Desire 20 Pro belongs to the middle class, supposedly it will receive a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor of the 600th series and a hole for the front camera in the upper left corner. Let’s see if the company can return if not its former greatness, then at least profit on the smartphone market, or whether this will be another step into the abyss of oblivion.
