Huawei starts distributing EMUI 11 stable outside of China

According to online sources, Huawei has begun large-scale deployment of a stable version of the new user interface for its EMUI 11 mobile devices. According to reports, the new skin will soon be available to users of Huawei P40, Huawei P40 Pro and Huawei Mate 30 Pro smartphones.

These are devices that have been sold outside the home market. The distribution of EMUI 11 for some models of Huawei smartphones in China began earlier, and now the updated interface is gradually expanding beyond the Celestial Empire. Obviously, it will take some time before it is delivered to all user devices.

It is worth noting that the volume of changes that users will receive with EMUI 11 is more modest than was announced in the beta version of the shell. Together with the update, the Huawei P30 series smartphones will support gesture control, which originally appeared in the P40 series. Also, users will become available to the theme of the design “Starry Night”.

The new user interface has some visual changes that show Huawei is gradually moving away from Android and preparing to move to its own Harmony OS. So, on the loading screen of the smartphone there is still the inscription “Powered by Android”, but the green robot symbolizing the operating system is gone.

The software update version occupies approximately 1.1 GB of disk space. Soon it will apply to all copies of the above models. The source notes that EMUI 11 could be the latest version of the Android-based user interface, as Huawei plans to move to using its own Harmony OS mobile platform in the future.
