Back in mid-June, AMD announced a new system logic for the most affordable motherboards with Socket AM4 – AMD A520. Motherboards based on it have not yet come out, but it looks like it will happen very soon. VideoCardz has posted images of upcoming AMD A520 motherboards from ASRock.
It is reported that ASRock will release at least five models of affordable motherboards based on the new AMD chipset. So far, only images of the A520M Pro4 and A520M-ITX / ac have been shown. The first is made in the Micro-ATX form factor, and the second is in Mini-ITX. Both have pretty good equipment for entry-level motherboards.
Both motherboards shown have two DDR4 DIMM slots. The larger novelty has received a pair of PCI Express 3.0 x16 expansion slots, while the more compact one has only one. To connect storage devices, in addition to the four SATA III ports, each of the cards shown has an M.2 slot with a heatsink. The larger A520M Pro4 has another M.2 slot, but without a heatsink.
The A520M-ITX / ac motherboard is equipped with a Wi-Fi module, while the A520M Pro4 model only has an M.2 slot for a Wi-Fi module, which must be purchased separately. There are also wired gigabit network adapters.
Unfortunately, neither the release date nor the cost of motherboards based on the new AMD A520 chipset are yet known.
