Improved reissue of classic JRPG SaGa Frontier announced

Square Enix has announced the re-release of the classic Japanese RPG SaGa Frontier Remastered for PC, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, iOS and Android. It will be released in summer 2021 in digital stores only.

The original SaGa Frontier was released on PlayStation in July 1997. The game features seven characters with different goals, but they come together to help each of them on their adventure. Your choice will affect how events unfold for each of the heroes.

SaGa Frontier Remastered will add an eighth character named Fuze. It can be opened after completing the story of the rest of the protagonists. The new script was written by the main director of the SaGa series Akitoshi Kawazu and writer Benny Matsuyama, and the music was written by composer Kenji Ito.

Fuze is a member of the regional public order organization. His real name is Lostar, but he was given the nickname Mad Fuse (Fuse translates to “explosive”) due to the fact that he loses control when he loses his temper. Despite the problematic behavior, the hero has a strong sense of duty as a patrolman, and his decisive actions led to a large number of arrests of criminals. In addition to Fuse, the re-release of SaGa Frontier will include new events related to Azellus.

In addition to the story content, SaGa Frontier Remastered boasts an improved graphical style. Characters, backgrounds and monsters have been created in high definition, and the menus have been redesigned for convenience. Some modern features have also been added, such as double speed-up gameplay.
