Several models of the Intel Avengers Edition special processor series, introduced less than two weeks ago, have become available for pre-order from the American retailer B&H Photo Video, as well as in select European stores. We are talking about chips Intel Core i9-10900K and Core i7-10700K Marvel Avengers Special Edition. Recall that the series also includes the Core i5-10600K model, but it has not yet been found on sale.
The technical characteristics of these chips are completely identical to those offered by the standard versions of the Core i9-10900K and Core i7-10700K. Both processors offer an unlocked multiplier for overclocking. The older model has 10 cores and 20 virtual threads. Its base frequency is 3.7 GHz. In auto overclocking mode, it can go up to 5.2 GHz. The presence of effective CO, as well as Intel Thermal Velocity Boost technology, allows you to increase the maximum automatic overclocking frequency by another 100 MHz, that is, up to 5.3 GHz. As for the special edition Core i7-10700K, it has eight cores and sixteen threads with a base frequency of 3.8 GHz, which is automatically increased to 5.1 GHz in Turbo Boost mode.
The only difference between the special series chips and the usual ones is the packaging. Instead of a boring blue branded box, the Special Edition chips come in brightly colored packaging inspired by the upcoming Marvel’s Avengers game on PC. The creator of the art is the American artist Tristan Eaton. The processor package also includes a commemorative card from the artist.
Despite the fact that the box itself says that the game is not included, buyers of these chips receive a code to activate the digital version of Marvel’s Avengers, which will be released on September 4. Intel estimates the included materials in the box at $ 80. Buyers of special versions of chips will be able to rely not only on the original game, but also on DLC content, as well as new costumes for Black Widow, Captain America, Hulk, Miss Marvel, Thor and Iron Man. The promotion will run from August 28, 2020 to February 28, 2021. You will need to activate the code for the game until March 31 of next year.
American retailer B&H Photo Video estimates special versions of the Core i9-10900K and Core i7-10700K processors at $ 600 and $ 407, respectively. At the same time, the special version of the Core i9-10900K, although it looks somewhat strange, is sold cheaper than the usual one by about $ 50. The Core i7-10700K model costs the same regardless of the version. The same situation is observed in the German store CaseKing.de. There, a special version of the Core i9-10900K costs € 545 with the usual price of € 607.
By the way, special versions of processors will be available on the Russian market as well, as we were confirmed by Intel. The limited batch will be on the shelves of select federal chains within the coming weeks. In the meantime, Russian buyers can take part in the discount week as part of the Intel Gamer Days 2020, which started today and will run until September 6.
