Sales of the new Intel Comet Lake-S desktop processors officially kicked off last week. In many Russian stores, new items appeared a little late, but today they are already available, moreover, in a relatively wide range and at very reasonable prices.
The flagship 10-core Intel Core i9-10900K processor can be bought in Moscow at a price of 43,990 rubles now. If we take stores with delivery in Russia, then in Citylink they ask for 46,990 rubles for this chip, and in CSOs 44,990 rubles. For comparison, in Europe this processor is sold at 589 euros, that is, about 45 thousand rubles. And in the USA it is currently problematic to find.
It is noteworthy that the simpler and, in theory, more affordable ten-core Core i9-10900 without an unlocked multiplier is now offered much more expensive – from 51 980 rubles. We are not aware of what this bias in price is connected with, but it clearly does not promise high sales.
The eight-core Core i7-10700K has a much more attractive price. As indicated by Yandex.Market, it can be found in Russian retail at a price of 32 540 rubles. In turn, the Core i7-10700 has not yet gone on sale. Note that the former flagship – Core i9-9900K, which according to the specifications corresponds to the Core i7-10700K, is selling more expensive – for almost 36 thousand rubles.
The new Core i5 also went on sale, the initial cost of which at the moment, depending on the model, ranges from 13 120 to 21 990 rubles. And the most affordable representative of the Comet Lake-S family at the moment is the Core i3-10100. Its cost is 11,990 rubles. The new chips of the Pentium and Celeron families have not yet appeared on the shelves.
Motherboards for new processors with an LGA 1200 socket can also be found in Russian stores. So far, the choice is limited solely to models based on the older Intel Z490 system logic. The cost of the most affordable models in the Citylink store starts at 11.5 thousand rubles. The most expensive of the currently found by us turned out to be the MSI MEG Z490 ACE board worth more than 49 thousand rubles.
