The large German retailer Mindfactory has already started selling the Intel Core i7-11700K processor, which belongs to the new Rocket Lake-S family. The item is in actual sale and not at the pre-order level. At the same time, the specified processor will be presented by Intel only on March 16.
The Core i7-11700K has eight cores and 16 threads, is built on the new Cypress Cove architecture, offers full PCI 4.0 support and is sold in a new packaging. The mere presence of a photograph of a new package indicates that the product page on the store’s website is not just a stub for a future novelty, but indicates the presence of a processor in the store. At the time of this writing, the product page indicates that the seller has more than five processors in stock.
The chip is priced at 469 euros by the German retailer, which is 152 euros more than the current value of the previous Core i7-10700K (Comet Lake-S) in the same store. The price of the Core i7-11700K is almost the same as the current flagship Core i9-10900K, which is offered there for 473 euros. All prices are inclusive of 19% VAT. Most likely, the official prices of Rocket Lake-S processors will be more democratic.
Earlier it was reported that the announcement of the new 11th generation Intel Core processors will take place in mid-March. The actual sales of the chips will begin on March 30, at the same time the ban on the publication of independent reviews of these new items will subside.
