The cosmonauts reported on the stabilization of air pressure in the intermediate chamber of the Zvezda module, which is part of the Russian segment of the International Space Station (ISS).
Recall that in one of the compartments of the Zvezda block, a small crack was previously revealed through which the orbital complex loses its atmosphere. The problem has not yet been completely eliminated, and a specialized repair kit will be delivered to the ISS only in February.
Last Monday, the commander of the space station, Sergei Ryzhikov, performed the next work on sealing the place near the seam and pipeline of the thermal control system in the intermediate chamber of the Zvezda module. After that, the drop in air pressure stopped.
“Stable pressure – 727.5 mm Hg“- quotes” RIA Novosti “an excerpt from the negotiations between Sergei Ryzhikov and specialists from the Moscow Region Mission Control Center.
So far, however, it is not clear whether the pressure will remain stable in the future. The fact is that recently there was information about the possible identification of another leak. The situation is aggravated by the fact that the ISS is running out of gas supplies to replenish the loss of oxygen, and the Russian installation “Electron-VM” for generating oxygen remains inoperative.
