SEGA and studio Ryu Ga Gotoku announced that the Japanese action RPG Yakuza: Like a Dragon will be released on PlayStation 5 later than the rest of versions – March 2, 2021. But the release on the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S will take place, as previously said, on November 10. Apparently, Microsoft bought the temporary exclusivity of the game as part of the next generation consoles.
Notably, users who purchase the digital PS4 version of Yakuza: Like a Dragon will be able to download the PS5 version at no additional cost.

Yakuza: Like a Dragon is the eighth installment of the main series and kind of a fresh start. Studio Ryu Ga Gotoku has moved away from the previous action-adventure formula and moved the series to a different genre: with a turn-based combat system, as in many JRPGs. The main character is also another person.
Instead of Kazuma Kiryu, you take on the role of Ichiban Kasuga, a grassroots fighter in a weak yakuza family in Tokyo. He served an 18-year prison sentence for something he didn’t do. When he was released, Ichiban learned that no one remembered him, and his clan was destroyed by the man he respected the most. You have to reveal the truth about the betrayal of your family and return your past life. To do this, Ichiban will attract several social outcasts to his side: the rogue policeman Adachi, the homeless nurse Nanbu and the hostess Saeko.
In addition to the release date for the PS5 version of Yakuza: Like a Dragon, SEGA and studio Ryu Ga Gotoku announced that the game will be released on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One on November 10, three days earlier than originally planned.
