Marvel's Spider-Man PS4 owners won't get a free PS5 upgrade

Marvel’s Spider-Man PS4 owners won’t get a free PS5 upgrade

Marvel Games Development Director Eric Monacelli talks to a concerned fan commented the situation around the availability of the remaster of Marvel’s Spider-Man for PS5.

Recall that at the moment the only officially announced option for obtaining Marvel’s Spider-Man: Remastered is as part of the full edition of Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales worth 5499 rubles.

Apparently, there are no exceptions to this rule: according to Monacelli, buyers of Marvel’s Spider-Man for PlayStation 4 will not be able to update their game to the PS5 version for free.

Monacelli’s claim contradicts Sony Interactive Entertainment CEO Jim Ryan, who has promised a free upgrade for PS4 versions of PS5 starter games, including Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales.

It is worth noting that Marvel’s Spider-Man: Remastered was not specifically on Ryan’s list, and as such a re-release of the superhero action game Insomniac Games is not considered a new game. Nevertheless, the case is remarkable.

Marvel’s Spider-Man: Remastered will include all three story add-ons, and the remaster itself will be able to boast improved models, animation and lighting, ray tracing, “Almost instantaneous” downloads and support for 60 frames / s.

Marvel’s Spider-Man: Remastered will be available at the same time as Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, that is, on the launch day of the PlayStation 5 – November 12 in the US and other countries of the first wave, and November 19 in the rest of the world.
