MegaFon reported its work in the second quarter of this year: the company maintains OIBDA margins, reduces debt burden and increases net income despite the continued impact of the pandemic.
In the period from April to June inclusive, one of the largest Russian mobile operators received 78.5 billion rubles in revenue. This is 8.3% less than a year ago. Service revenue decreased by 6.9% to RUB 73.4 billion.
At the same time, net profit jumped by more than a third – by 35.2%, reaching 4.0 billion rubles. The total debt decreased by 17.7 billion rubles – to 357.4 billion rubles. The OIBDA margin (profit from operating activities before depreciation of property, plant and equipment and amortization of intangible assets) remained at 45.4%.
The subscriber base of MegaFon in Russia in the second quarter remained practically at the level of the previous year – 75.4 million. The number of data transmission users rose by 4.2% to 34.9 million people, which is 46.3% of the total base.
In the second quarter of 2020, the number of base stations increased by 2.3% – to 189 thousand. More than 4 thousand “towers” were put into operation in the LTE and LTE Advanced standards. The number of registered 4G devices in MegaFon’s network increased by 14.5% over the year, to 35 million.
