Microsoft’s new Chromium-based Edge browser has gained significant popularity and continues to evolve. This time it became known that a new function has appeared in the browser, which will significantly speed up its loading.
We are talking about the Startup Boost feature, which should appear in Edge 88 and will soon become available in test versions of the browser. This feature has been reported to launch Edge processes in the background when the operating system starts up, making the browser launch much faster.
Launch Booster works when you launch Edge from the taskbar, from the desktop, and when you click links from other apps. Most likely, the new function will not be enabled by default and will have to be activated separately in the browser settings. It’s worth noting that Edge processes running in the background won’t slow down your computer, as they will run at a low priority.
The source says Launch Acceleration will be available to Edge users for Windows 10 in Dev and Canary builds over the next few weeks. Obviously, after the end of the test period, this function will become widespread.
If you notice an error, select it with the mouse and press CTRL + ENTER.
