The Games Industry portal belatedly shared information on sales of retail editions of games in the UK from 7 to 13 March 2021. An especially successful week has been for Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales.
The superhero action movie Insomniac Games nevertheless reached the first place on the chart – the game started at one time from the third line, and its best result until recently was the second position.
Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales is available on PS4 and PS5, but it would have remained in the lead even without taking into account the version for the last generation console (it accounted for about 10% of sold copies during the reporting period).
This achievement also allowed Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales to establish itself as the best-selling PlayStation 5 launch project in the UK (retail).
In general, over the past week, sales of physical copies of games in the country have grown by 36% – all thanks to even more restocking of the PS5 (the console is still instantly snapped up when it hits the shelves).
This situation contributed to the rise of other projects. Immortals Fenyx Rising moved up to rank 14 (+ 52% of sales), while the complete edition of Mortal Kombat 11 returned to the top 40 (+ 203%) and now occupies 18th position.
The next game that will stir up the rating is called Monster Hunter Rise in Games Industry: the action RPG Capcom will go on sale for Nintendo Switch on March 26 this year.
The top 10 UK retail charts for March 7-13 are as follows (last week’s result is shown in parentheses):
