The OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro smartphones introduced this year have disappointed many brand fans with their value. The basic version of the smartphone costs $ 899, while the price of the Pro version is even more impressive $ 999. This brings the company, which was previously positioned as a manufacturer of flagship devices at an affordable price, into one segment with Samsung and Apple, which are not so easy to compete with.
However, according to OnePlus CEO Pete Lau, the company plans to return to cheaper devices and introduce new product categories in the near future. Although Lau did not provide any details, analysts agree that it was a question of OnePlus Z, about which there are quite a lot of rumors. According to unconfirmed reports, the smartphone will be presented in July this year.
At the same time, the company does not plan to stop production of expensive flagship smartphones, but plans to expand the portfolio with more affordable solutions that will primarily be aimed at attracting potential customers and introducing them to the OnePlus ecosystem.
