OnePlus has officially confirmed the release of a series of affordable smartphones

Today, OnePlus co-founder Pete Lau said at the official OnePlus forum that the company is developing a new series of products that will offer a first-class user experience at an affordable price. He claims that the decision to create a new lineup is connected with the requests of users who want to purchase a high-quality and reliable smartphone without overpaying for the “bells and whistles” that they do not need.

It is reported that the family of affordable smartphones will be primarily presented in Europe and India. Later, budget devices will get to North America. The team of developers involved in the creation of affordable smartphones was led by Paul Yu, who is likely to introduce new devices. It has been reported that he has been with OnePlus for more than five years. Prior to that, he was a project manager at the lesser-known Chinese smartphone and tablet company Coolpad.

Carl Pei also shared a link to the Instagram account “onepluslitezthing”, which will publish information related to new devices. In a tweet on behalf of the company, it was indicated that the first 100 subscribers would receive exclusive gifts. At the moment, the number of subscribers is approaching 3000.

It is expected that the first smartphone in the new family will be OnePlus Nord, from OnePlus Z, which is credited with an AMOLED display, a quad camera and the Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G chipset.
